Register Now to Take the MECH Exam this Fall!

Mechanic Evaluation and Certification for Healthcare (MECH) is a nationally recognized certification program for healthcare mechanics. Certified and Senior Certified mechanics are able to document their skills and gain professional recognition for their valuable work in the healthcare environment.

In the fall of 2022, CSHE will be offering the MECH exam to candidates wishing to receive their MECH certification. Upcoming exams will be held at:

  • The CSHE Southern California Seminar: September 15, 2022, in Long Beach. Deadline to register for the test is August 11, 2022.
  • The CSHE Northern California Seminar: October 20, 2022, in Fairfield. Deadline to register for the test is September 15, 2022.

To assist our members, CSHE has launched a MECH Study Group Series, designed as a preparation tool for CSHE Facility members who desire to take the MECH exam. There will be a total of seven study groups in this series, each one relating to one of the seven categories of healthcare maintenance work covered by the MECH test: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, general maintenance, HVAC/R systems, power plant/boiler, and safety and support services. Four study group sessions have been held so far this summer. The next study group session, focused on Carpentry, is scheduled for August 5, 2022, at 8 am.
