Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has a full-time opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities team.
Shriners Hospital is the largest provider of pediatric sub-specialty orthopedic and burn care in Northern California and is recognized by US News and World Report as a top pediatric hospital in the country.
Responsibilities include maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, according to established procedures and guidelines; maintaining and repairing boilers, chillers, heat pumps, electrical, plumbing, gas, generator, fire pump, steam, DDC and pneumatic systems; repairing portable and stationary machinery and appliances; using hand and power tools, including cutting and threading tools, grinders, reamers, wrenches, welders, saws and other special tools; making carpentry repairs to doors, windows, floors and other parts of buildings; and painting as required.
Must have the ability to troubleshoot, repair, regulate and control electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, portable equipment, DDC, and pneumatics, as well as read and comprehend schematics, blueprints and shop drawings and accurately determine time and materials required for a job. Must have a Universal CFC license. Requires 5 years of industrial experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program. Healthcare experience preferred.
