Proactive Legionella Water Management: Zero Cases, Not Zero Legionella
The objectives of this presentation include:
- Understand the differences between reactive and proactive approaches to
prevention of healthcare-acquired Legionnaires' disease
- Understand the growing burden of Legionnaires' disease in healthcare dollars and
the basis for the geographic distribution of cases
- Learn the pain of an investigation of a suspected case of healthcare-acquired
Legionnaires' disease - the case may not be yours
- Understand the causes of false positive Legionella urine antigen tests and the
causes of false positive environmental test results
- Learn the gaps in Legionella water management that can trip you up
