 FACILITIES ENGINEER

 You will plan, coordinate and direct improvements and additions to the mechanical and utility systems.  You'll also provide plans and specifications for the contract of services, inspect and report on projects, review billings, feasibility studies and cost analyses, and advise of mechanical/electrical maintenance and equipment replacement requirements.

 We require a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 6 years of experience in facilities engineering or related activities such as plant layout, installing, and design experience. Must have a background in plant operations and maintenance, project management experience, and planning, scheduling, contract administration, cost control, communication and interpersonal skills. A licensed electrical engineer is highly desired. Medical facility experience and computer skills are desired.

 Consults with the Chief Administrative Officers at each operating unit on their facility needs as well as works in conjunction with the Director of Real Estate on major construction and renovation projections throughout the system. Interprets and ensures compliance with hospital policies, and various regulations, and serves as the safety officer for the organization.

 The successful candidate will oversee budget planning and set mid and long term tactical plans in relation to all facility services and emergency systems for the organization.

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Have a minimum of 8 years experience in healthcare plant operations.
  • Be a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
  • Be an exceptional leader with strong people management skills and communication skills.
  • Have proven success in innovation/strategies direction/vision setting, with record performance and resource management.

 Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager

 Lodi Memorial, a 270-bed, not for profit hospital, is seeking a qualified Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager.   The incumbent will manage the plant maintenance department which includes delivering services to a newly constructed and occupied acute care addition that contains 90 medical surgical beds and a new emergency department.   Additionally, Lodi Memorial Hospital owns and operates a system of  health clinics in the community. An Associates degree in a related field or equivalent is required.    Five (5) years of supervision in an engineering or plant operations field in a healthcare environment also required with direct supervision of maintenance activities in medical office building including ambulatory care centers.

DIRECTOR OF PLANT OPERATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. or equivalent experience, in relevant field.
  • 5 to 7 years plant engineering experience, including previous hospital plant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JCAHO standards, Title 22 requirements and local, state and federal building and plant engineering regulations and codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • User knowledge of computer software used in department.
  • LA City Steam License and/or BOMA Certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior management experience in a bargaining unit environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of California Environmental Regulations.

Duties:

  • Manages operational programs, assuring that buildings are maintained in a safe and operationally effective condition. Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of facility programs; compiles and analyzes operational and productivity data. Identifies innovative alternatives to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Reviews the consumption of energy and other resources in order to plan and adjust operating policies and procedures to ensure operations are cost effective.
  • Prepares department operating budget and ensures adherence to financial targets.
  • Selects vendor services and products related to plant operations and manages their performance to ensure adherence to contractual provisions, job schedules and regulatory specifications.
  • Conducts inspection tours of the plant, related equipment and emergency systems to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the facility. Ensures all legally required licenses and operating permits are obtained and maintained and that local, state and federal regulations are followed.
  • Reviews, approves and coordinates work requests to ensure timely completion and adherence to regulatory codes and ordinances.
  • Participates in planning and design review related to construction and renovation projects.
  • Recruits, trains and motivates a workforce of technical and other qualified personnel.
  • Manages other related projects and programs as assigned.
